SHANGHAI, Jul. 31 (SMM) - China’s zinc oxide sector is expected to take a hit as US will impose anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures on imports of certain passenger vehicle and light truck tires from China, SMM says.
"The US Commerce Department will impose a 14.35-87.99% anti-dumping and a 20.73-100.77% anti-subsidy tariff on the foresaid Chinese tire products, and this will greatly impact China’s zinc oxide sector”, SMM zinc analyst says.
Domestic zinc oxide producers ramped up raw material purchases as zinc prices have fallen sharply recently. But their orders shrank noticeably due to summer heat.
Prices for indirect zinc oxide were 14,900-15,500 yuan per tonne this past week, SMM data show.
